Evo V-Map questions

I currently have the straight evo 215 tune. I am wondering how the new multi map is going to benefit over the straight tune? Is it only the ability to turn the power up with better quality fuel or is there more to it than that? Also how does the anti-lag work? Will I notice a big difference in spool time? I didnt think the lag was all that bad with the straight 215 tune. Thanks in advance for help on this issue.

I know Evolution will be on sooner then later to answer this question. But I.ll take a stab at it. The anitlag is just that. Off the line the sled is going to make boost you hold the throttle open and the engine is limited by rpm due to timing. This timing spools the turbo. Bam your making arm stretching/flip the sled over backwards boost off the line. Fun and neat in my opinion. The multimap would be great for a guy who wants that little extra on a really deep day or a day that you now your going to pull some chutes with buddies. The bragging kinda day. Full your tank with avgas and reap the benefits of the extra octane and timing that goes with it to increase hp.

This is really no different than the big chute turbos. Jim will correct me if I am wrong but I believe that the bc250 vs the big chute 275(avgas) was mostly in advanced timing with vary little difference in actual pressure into the engine. A different timing map could be used because the fuel would tolerate it. Lets face it when you put in avgas your getting 100 octane. When you put in 91 I would be willing to guess that you typically don't get over 89 octane.

nother area that I think the multimap might be great in convince would be the ride in on the trail. You can clutch your sled to be right at perfect rpm in the powder. Typically when you do this then you overrev on the trail. Not a big deal but with the multi map click down one setting and stay off the rev limiter on the trail.

Jim-
Care to expand on this antilag mapping.

Thanks

Dat's why u are the Man-
Thank you for the readers digest version..... it makes things easy.

I will pass this along to others..:face-icon-small-win

I have the 215 flash and was under the impression that no matter what fuel or boost changes are made above this the stock turbo just won't produce anymore power. So am I correct in understanding changes in timing is going to have a significant effect on power even tho the stock turbo is tapped out????? If so then how much more power is the mapping going to produce over the 215???

If you look at Evolutions YouTube page he has a stage 1.5 kit that with the stock turbo, intake boot, full exhaust, brv, , head studs, cold air v flow and 100+octane he was making upwards of 235 hp. The turbo itself has nothing to do with the equation.

I do believe that if you read in the Evo catalog it lists this stage 1.5 tune. Your best bet is to pick up the phone and call Jim or stop and talk to him at hay days.

Hey bud, long time no talk. With only boost and fuel additions the stock turbo at elevation is about done. That's why there were a lot of mountain riders disappointed with BD hp claims. But hey, I don't have to tell you that haha. I did some 100LL tunes for guys and they were very impressed with how they performed. Of course there is still a significant difference in performance from a 100LL stock tune and a pump BC250 kit, even thou its only 15hp you have to work pretty hard to heat soak the BC turbo. You just need to do a BC kit with multi map and be done lol.

That is what I had to deal with all last year on my 1100 is heat soak man does it run for about 300 yards on a hard pull then I do believe it has less power then stalk tried to get answers last year got the o we got this and this and this for next year im so disappointed in my 1100 that I think a stock Polaris sounds pretty darn good rite now. Have always rode Cat but the chassis Sucks and the Power is not constant. I can live with the sled handling like crap but the less than stock power half way up a chute just don't cut it. I used to look at a Chute and say no problem with my M1000 with a Twisted kit on it but this thing I look at it and say I got the first 300 yards but then it is a good role to the bottom when it retards the timing and goes from 70ish track speed to 45.???????????? by the way I got the Bc 275 kit Turbo blankets intercooler the works it does help a little bit to run Race gas but still does not cure the charge temp shutting it down.

Hcm sending u a pm.

Wish i knew what that pm said!!

Nothing special. . . Just a few questions to try to figure out where he is at to get the most out of his big chute.

I don't think he should be experiencing what he claims he is so want to make sure he gets the most out of his sled this coming winter.

I see. I am curious as well. Just wanted to know what he ends up having a problem with. So if I run into the problem this season ill have an Idea

I hope to hear back from him and maybe we can figure something out that he can try different and hopefully he has a totally different outcome and smile as he is cresting the top of the chute wagging the skis in the air!

That is not the norm for a BC kit for sure. Did over 20 kits
without having the timing or boost rolling back like it does on the stock turbo when things get warm. Turbo 11t hopefully can shed some light for you. Gotta search pretty hard for BC kit owners that weren't happy with how it performed.

maybe you have the problem and dont know it ???? have you ever rode side by side with turbo 1000's ????
