Ever done any aerobatic's?

Man, Buddy just took me for a plane ride in an RV, did roll's, loop's, Cuban 8's
What a rush, 3g's is all we hit but I can see why people are into plane's like this, been in some float planes but it's just not the same
Tried to fly over Boulder in Revy but it was all socked in

I've been up in an open cockpit biplane (liberty) and did some barrell rolls, loop de loos (don't know the tech term), free fall spins and several other tricks. Got to fly it a little as well.
The most exciting was flying through a canyon at 150 ft following the river bank. It was quite a rush.

my dad and I were in san jose, cali and driving down the road, spotted a sign fo a fund raisrer for sj state. for 20bux we each got a 20 minute ride in a t-18 navy trainer plane. holy crap is all I can say. best 20bux I have spent to this day.

The closest I have been to aerobatics was flying with this crazy Canadian. He used to do some pretty crazy stuff in a DC-3. He would fly low enough that he would be shooting rooster tails on the river. The first time I flew with him he asks me if I saw those goats on the canyon wall. I said "what goats". Next thing I know he lays that thing over and spins around to show me the goats. Now Grant and I had been out drinking the night before and my stomache wasn't ready. I almost left my breakfast in the cockpit.

I have had my private pilot's license since I was 17 and that is definitly where the fun is...low and fast! Especially flying through a canyon with the walls above you on both sides...yee-haw!!! :D

Used to know a guy that had a late 40's Globe Swift(I think that's what it was called). It was a little two seat low wing aluminum plane. It was a lot of fun to do the loops, stalls, and rolls in. Wish I had one!

I have an uncle that flew aerobatics sponsored by Yak America. He flew "Dancing Bear" for a few magazine covers back in the late 90's, also did a bunch of testing for both the Yak 54 and Yak 55. I never let him take me up though, not that I'm not a man, he would just make me scream like a little girl!

My old roommates dad owns a few planes, a cessna 210, citabria, and a 2 seater helicopter (dont remember the name). The old roomy is currently working on his IFR certs. His instructor took me up in the citabria last spring and we did some loops, rolls, spins, stalls, falling leafs, hammer heads and a few others. Most fun I have ever had..... If I had a little bit larger income I would ditch the bikes and sleds to own a plane, but until then I'll ware my body out racing mx and snox and have fun flying bikes and sleds.

Yeah I used to spend every months bonus check doing it.
Then I got the bright idea of flying for a living and now I can't afford it.:(

I hear that. I used to teach people how to fly (class IV instructor) and I was only paid $8/hr. It's really hard to pay your dues when you can't afford to eat. I don't fly anymore. Miss it like heII. :( I've often thought of trying to break back into flying now that I'm older. Not sure if that would work for me or against me these days. <sigh>

Wow and I thought paying my instructor $25/hr was cheap! :face-icon-small-coo
