Evan Hoge's CR500 Snow Bike Build...TURBO?

I like this, lots of big 2 stroke HP on a light weight bike frame? But lets step this up.
Put a big head on this to drop the compression, bore it out....and lets get a turbo on there! Bump that HP to like 150 then get some sort long deep track.

It doesnt look like they are holding back on anything else. If your going to go big and it doesnt look like money is an problem lets go real big!

Anyone else agree?

Don't see a CR 500 at 150hp very doable, reliable or user friendly. Very cool, but not very likely. Now when KTM finally releases their EFI two stroke you might have something to boost reliably in the two stroke realm.

Yeah I guess ur carb is going to hold you back some. But i think 130 hp is a possibility.

The other issue is keeping the crank bearings from burning up.... Oh how I would love one though

would take a ton of work. they are mid 50 to 60 stock

would the trans hold together? hmm

these bikes were never made for peak power. at a certain point you can only put so much to the ground on a skinny little tire, so nothing ever got beefed up in the engine compared to sled standards.

the piston is pretty light for how big it is. a sled piston has much more meat in it.

at 100hp or so they need more piston to cylinder clearance. learned that just recently.

Look one good I would be concerned about long term high rev reliability with the kit... Plus the vibes.. I would make sure everything is perfectly balanced if you go that route

Reliability?? What, vs a 4 stroke?? Hahahahah

Vibes aren't bad at all, maybe I'm just used to riding a CR250 too much to notice

Why not just build a Maico 700? Would save a bunch of work.

Im really surprised there has not been one of these on the snow yet around here. Seems like it would be a killer set up.
Stock they are somewhere around 80 hp. and 220 dry weight!
