Ethanol vs. Non Ethanol fuel?

Simple question. Is the gas station required to inform the consumer if its fuel contains ethanol or not? My new sled has two fuel maps and if I run it in ethanol mode with non-ethanol fuel the owners manual claims engine damage could occur. Sounds like a lot of people are running theirs in ethanol mode, but I can't ever remember seeing fuel around here (bozeman) containing ethanol.
Thanks

Here in Missoula/hippyville the pumps have a label on them that tells you the dates when the regular pump fuel is oxygenated with ethonal/winter blend (November to March if I'm not mistaken but I probably am). Some of the stations around also have pumps with non-oxygenated/non ethanol "snowmobile gas" that's 91 ocatane and costs a little more. Do not run ethanol with your sled set for non-ethanol gas because it will advance the timing and detonate and you'll have a nice hole in your pistons after a while.

I always run 91 Octane here, I don't ever recall seeing an ethanol label on any of the grades of gas.

Yeah, I don't know about other places, but here we have 91 "winter blend" and 91 "snowmobile gas". Running 91 winter blend is like running 88 regular non-ethanol blended.

i think by law if its more than 8% ethanol it has to have a little sticker on the pump. in north and south dakota they all have little square stickers on them.
