Ethanol Fuel Test kit Group Buy? $20

I was looking at buying an Ethanol fuel test kit. The cost of the kit is not bad but shipping adds up. If I can get 10 people, you can get a kit for $20. Normal price if you buy one is $32 (shipped).

This is a simple and RE-USABLE kit that will allow you to test your fuel supplier for Ethanol and water.

Cheap insurance if you ask me.

The kicker to this deal is you must live between Fort Collins and Gypsum. I make that drive every week. If you are in South Denver you must be willing to meet me at I-70/I25 area. I'll go a little South but not too far.

If you are interested, post up, shoot me a PM or something.

If there is no interest, that is cool I'll just order up a kit myself.

Edit... We need at LEAST 10 people. We can do more than that as well.

Save your money! From what I`ve been told, as of sept. 1, 2010 non ethanol fuels are no longer available. From the pump that is. Leaded race fuels do not have ethanol. I`m not sure about AV gas. Amsoil has a new product called Quickshot SE. It is suppose to help with problems associated with ethanol. Has anyone used this product? I would like to know what you think.

That's what she said...:face-icon-small-sho

LOL. The ol' guy gets a jab in. How's the search goin BG?

I heard the same thing. I'll have to check with the guy that owns the unmanned station here in Ktown. Ethanol will force those with jets to jet up and will change fuel mapping for you Cat and Poo guys. I ALWAYS add a bottle of fuel dry (aka HEET) to my fuel and will be ordering some GOOD octane booster.

I bought Ethanol free this weekend in south fork.
Have talked several times to fuel buyer for our local coop, he claims he can still get ethanol free. He claims they cannot compete with the other stations selling 10% or whatever % they decide. But he thinks, still available. Darn I sure hope so.

Logger, do you have any idea how fresh their gas is? I've always been curious how often they fill their premium tank. I'm not sure what's worse, the 10% blend, or gas that's been sitting for months?

Not sure Matt, they are the busiest station in sf. I think the only draw back might be old gas would lose a little octane, not sure?

Old fuel will start to separate, causing injectors and jets to gum up and clog. This is a type of lacquer I think. Also running it a high compression sled will create detonation. You can run older fuel in cars with less performance than fresh because generally you are mixing it with fresh fuel already in the tank. Most peeps don't run their cars/trucks to completely empty whereas that is a common among sledders having to fill up a bone dry tank after or before a ride.

I need a kit, and I will make few calls to other turbo riders.

But we are way down south,

I've got 3 confirmed for now probably 4.

If there is more than one of you, I can probably ship them down for maybe $5-6 more total. So if you get a few guys it really wouldn't be much more.

If I am shipping one kit, it doesn't make sense to get in on this for the difference in shipping to you from me.

That is why a test kit is also nice. Old fuel gets water in it from condensation, this test kit will tell you if there is water in the fuel.

I definitely will buy one for myself and still checking with others.
Will let you know.

Thanks

I'm in for one.

This ethanol deal is going to really mess up our fuel. Sleds or tanks that sit for any descent amount of time will be in jeopardy of accumulating water. I want to test a few places that don't have the oxygenated stickers on the pumps.

I'm in for one...
I live 20 minutes South of I 70 in Evergreen. Let me know when and how you want $ and when you'll be heading through.
Thanks,
