Hey guys wondering if anyone know of anyone knows anyone or a good avenue to look for a job doing excavation work. Wanna move from Wisconsin closer to riding areas and elk hunting. Have a good amount of experience running excavators, dozers, skid loaders, loader crawlers, and all types of semi tractor trailer setups. All about putting in the hours when the sun shine too. Any help would be appreciated! Pm me or email: mike_Bailie@yahoo.com thanks

i ran an excavating crew here in colorado and i can tell you its not a steady income anymore.usually goes strong in the summer but you can forget any winter work unless your up the ladder a bit.i agree with dave, follow the oil boom.just my 2 cents

Yeah that kind of what I was expecting for a response. I guess I just need to look into it a bit more. Wanna find something or somewhere to live a "normal" life and not be moving around a bunch. Not saying these jobs are or are not that but like I said I guess I will just have to.look into them more. Thanks for the replies fellas.

You could check the coal pit at Gillette. There has been several guys from around here that have taken jobs there. Good pay, steady work, and plenty of time off to go play.

I will be looking for a guy in Utah in the next 2 months. pipeline work. steady yr around work. around 30 an hr to start. If you are not better than average on an hoe it won't work out. Just being honest... Work is for phillips66. 25% travel. Home every weekend if you travel. All travel is paid both ways and in company truck. You can pm me for my number if your interested. Not a ton of overtime but you have a life. You will average around 70k a yr. full benefit's also. I have went thru 3 guy's in the last two months that said they were good. Every time you put a bucket in the ground you will be digging up high pressure gas mains. Putting that out there becuase it makes a lot of guy's nervous

Isn't that the truth. It's funny how many "talented" operators are on a first name basis with the repair crews for the local utilitys. :face-icon-small-fro

Don't bother coming to Alaska. No work here either... For some reason all these TV shows have people thinking that this is the place to be, and they are moving here by the boatload.

FREE MONEY and GOLD MINING GALORE... Not the case. Its drame tv. The gold rush ended decades ago. Very expensive to live too.
