And well I have a RK tech cyl head and piston kit coming in the mail, figures I might aswell do the whole thing sooo was wondering where is the best place to obtain a full gasket kit? With good crank seals etc! Royal distributing sucks and never has anything in stock so any recommendations?

cause it would be very unfortunate to have a seal go out aswell as when pulling the top end apart the debris falling into the bottom end. Im pulling the engine out so might aswell while its on the bench

You ought to rethink splitting the cases if the machine doesn't have very many miles. With a little caution you can keep "debris" out of the bottom end.

There is no reason to think a seal will go out, again if it doesn't have a bunch of miles on it.

And to split the case you have to do a bunch of other things that can potentially cause you more work than just being careful not to get debris down in the lower end.

Heck, even if you do get debris down in there, if the motor is out, you can flip it upside down and use an oil/gas mix to flush it out.

I didn't think they were any harder to pull apart than any other engine. its only got 1800 miles on it. May see what kind of oil porting I can do for the crank.. if its anythign like the old 600/700/800 engines they always needed a little more channeling.

you ask why pull the bottom end? Here is why

wore down the nikasil on the one jug, aswell as the mag side crank seal is seeping. Now question... I have a hone for nikasil, would you hone that even with that port chipped? Or send it out for a re spray? aswell as any recommendations for reeds and gasket set?
