Engine swap

Hey, I have an '05 900 with a broken crank and it's been just kind of sitting in the back for a while. I got to thinking about putting in an Apex motor with a bit of push. Has anyone tackled this before? I'm a bit new to the fabricating part but it's just there and not really costing me anything and I could take my time with it. I know it's going to be alot of work but I don't want to see the chassis go to waste.

Can't say that I have ever heard of anyone putting a 4-stroke into a 900 chassis. There have been a couple people that have transplanted Polaris 800 motors into them, but from the sound of it it is not all that easy to do given the 900's unique engine mounting setup.

I would really like to hear if this could be done tho:D:beer;

i will have to say no way...you could spend tons of money and do this and still have a bad turnout..

not alot of people would go for something like this..

i have only heard of people using Edge 800 motors in the IQ chassis. and NOT the 900 (05-06) chassis..only the 600 IQ chassis (not sure what year)

if you were going to do some amount of work and spend the money..i would get the updated 32mm crank from polaris and rebuild the 900...

BOOOO 4-strokes ;)!!!

there is a guy in the general section that is putting a yammi turbo motor in a 08 dragon and i guess it fit pretty good. there are some pics too. i will see if i can find the thread.

sounds like a cool idea.

on edit: here is a link to the thread yammapoo turbo
