Engine shrouds

I'm having trouble searching the forum. I have the SXS shroud on my old YZ, and am looking to shroud the new Husky FC. What is everyone doing? There were some cloth shrouds on a while back that looked interesting.

They are made by power sports tech (http://www.powersportstech.com/home.html) I made mine for a 2012 KX450 out of crazy carpet. But this year I up graded to a 2015 KTM 450SX-F and I am going to try and make mine out of a welders blanket. Withstands heat up to 1400 degrees. So I am going to wrap my head pipe with DEI header wrap and Spray a ton of silicone spray on it like I did on my KX then wrap the hole engine bay with the welders blanket. might be a challenge but will give it a whirl.

Does that work for an entire winter. spraying header wrap with silicone spray. is that a better option then a carbon shield

It worked fine on my kx and used an entire can of the silicone spray then fire the bike up after it sets up overnight. Make sure you start the bike outdoors because it is going to smoke like a SOB. Let run for 10 mins. Then shut the bike off and let it cool, it sets up like a cast. No water will get through! Give about 30 mins in between coats but use the whole can that is designed for the header wrap. Works great never burnt any pants.

Brad handed me some of this material and told me to rip it. It had a hole big enough so I could put my fingers in it. No matter how hard I pulled I could not rip it. The nice thing is the ability to roll it down as the day warms up or for trail riding.

We have SXS ones for the ktm and the husky, which is the same one. Have both the 13-15 style taken care of already and will have the 2016's covered soon!
