Engine not firing properly

I will start of relaying all the expereince i have had with this happening to me.
I live at 3000' and ride to 6500'
I stuck a piston, but was able to just hone it out as it was all melted aluminum. got it to start again and it seemed to run fine. two days later we went on our trip in early January to cooke city, the first day out the sled was running like crap. it wouldnt rev above 6k and was running like a dog. i having not played with a sled at higher elevations, descided becase my plugs are wet, i need to jet down. so i jet from a 380 to a 340, this helps a little, and the plugs are looking better, but it still wont pull RPMs, so i clicker down from 3 to 5, still running like a dog and sounding like its underwater. the thing would take off from the start, rip right to 8000 and then die out back to 6000-6500rpm and sputter and chug at WOT. after the second day of this, the sled all of a sudden seemed to come to life and run amazingly, like it used to at low elevation, minus a little power. well after about and hour or so of it running great, it starts to bog, pull the plugs, metal shrapnal everywhere. burned a piston, and my crank, after about 4000 miles had got really sloppy.

finially today at 3000' i got a new crank and all my parts back together, engine rebored, new everything. got the sled to start right away, no fighting. at first it was being a little weird and shut off on me once for no reason while i was ripping around at my house. then i stopped, pulled the plugs, they looked fine. took the sled back out and the thing RIPPED, after 20 minutes of flying around my shoulders were getting sore and i figured seeing as it was dark out i might as well call it a night. so i start it up to go for one last rip, and the thing sounds like it is underwater again. i go out in the field and it goes great until 8k and then backs down to about 6800 and farts and sputters. the occasionally it runs right for maybe 30 seconds and pulls my arms out, then runs on one cylinder. when i pulled the plugs, one looks fine, but the other is all wet. its mostly the same piston that the plug is wet, but sometimes when i would run it and stop it was the other.

does this sound like my coil is going out or is the DPM just not happy about coming back down, even though it has been sitting here not running for 2.5 months?

after seeing another post, could my tether be messing up? the sled has a lot of miles on it so maybe its getting worn out?

Check your ignition coil and make sure the mounting bolts are tight. I had the same thing happen. It took five days and 5 cases of MGD to figure it out. I'd also check your DPM manifold for $ h i t s and giggles . Its amazing if that little manifold is mis calibrated!! ( BTW another 2 cases of MGD to wrap my head around that one as well!!)
Good luck ( and happy drinking!:face-icon-small-hap:beer;)

Been sitting for 2.5 months---I am going to go for FUEL. Water in your fuel will cause nightmares--even old fuel--will foul plugs and will meltdown pistons. Need to find the cause for sure. Had a similar circumstances years ago--was FUEL. Drained the tank and carbs--got fresh fuel and installed a new piston and no more issues.

H20SKE...

and i win with the gayest problem ever, mixture screws were way off and the thing was running so rich that it couldnt fire the cylinders. fixed those, and started running br9ecs instead of br9eya's and the thing flat ripps now.
