Engine experts needed!!! Intake port bridge?

I have a RKT 827 and my buddy noticed that the bridge on the intake port was missing. I have heard that some guys have been taking them out if a ring caught on them etc. Is this true?

Any jetting/performance things that I should watch out for in this cylinder? Does it make a difference if the other cylinder still has the bridge in???

If its the bridge at the bottom of the sleeve the rings never get close to it.
Some guys remove it to enhance air flow. Some cut it lower and some leave it alone.
The outside edges are enough for the piston skirt to ride on with no problems.
You most likely won't notice a difference with the other one having it in but I personally like my stuff matched up. Its all the little things added together that can make big differences.
