I'm looking to buy a trailer and I looking for input on a couple of things.
1- v nose verses flat front, how much harder does the flat front pull?
2- ground clearance do I need to have the tires underneath the deck?
3- with the flat front is unloading out the back much of a problem?
4- if you have one your looking to sell or know of one let me know. I'm not wanting to spend to much money and not looking for a perfect trailer for cheap either.

I have a 27FT Wells Cargo (2001) trailer, fully insulated with tons of cabinets and a heater.. Great shape $5000 OBO

V noise is th eonly way to go so you can unload out the front with ease

Trailer is in SE Idaho

1- v nose verses flat front, how much harder does the flat front pull? This depends on what you are towing it with. The V is worth it. Plus the resale will be better unless you get a steal on a flat nose.

2- ground clearance do I need to have the tires underneath the deck? It depends on how long the trailer is, and what kind of roads you expect to use it on. I would like mine lower until I get into the snow boulders and have to maneuver, then I'm glad it is up out of the crud.

3- with the flat front is unloading out the back much of a problem? With the V front on my 18' I can get 3 long tracks in by loading from the front. Drop the door and ride out, drop the door and ride in. No point getting hurt before you get started.

4- if you have one your looking to sell or know of one let me know. I'm not wanting to spend to much money and not looking for a perfect trailer for cheap either. Keep your eyes open, you'll find one.

notes in red...

There is a 24 foot flat nose for 3500 its a 2000 is that a steal. I like the fact that I can haul cars in it also not just limited to sleds.

Flat nose car haulers generally sit much lower and fender humps INSIDE the cargo area.. So, youhave to jossel around the humps.. Then if you are in an areas with questionable terrain.. you could bottom out much easier. Keep in mind the snow terrain..
You can also get V nose car haulers.. those are nice with the exception of the inside humps and have the clearance needed.

I would recomend ordering one with all the doors put onto the drivers side. easierto see when filling up with fuel. No need to turn trailer around to fill sleds. this can be a pain at some busy gas stations. ON my trailer I wish I would of not gotten fuel doors and just went with two walk in doors. Filling back sled sucks. Put hose in small door then go walk to front of trailer to get in. Crawl over front sleds to get to the back sleds. Then slip fall cuss a little. Finaly fill back sleds.

Mine didn't have gas doors, they are easy to add. This is what I used.

1 - The v-nose isn't really for towing fuel economy, its for ease of unloading
2 - Its a give-and-take thing. The inset wheels set the trailer lower so it tows better in the wind and has a little less nose to catch wind, but you do lose ground clearance for backing up sloped driveways and the fenderwells can be sort of a pain to drive a sled over ... again, its all give and take
3 - Does your sled have reverse? IMO its still easier to drive them out under their own power than back them off a ramp and horse them around, but this is probably just personal preference

My $0.02.

Check www.trailershopper.com if you are looking for your first. There are some deals on there, not brand name deals. Need to verify the decking is coated, not just regular plywood, and undercoating on the frame underneith. Other than that new trailer, car hauler/snowmobile, brand new for around $5000. Might be a little drive to pick it up.
