Enclosed trailer exterior paint matching?

So we've been having some stuff done around the house since I don't have the time to do it myself and my trailer (that I just bought 3 months ago) got some nice scratches on the side where somebody leaned an old window against the side of it.:face-icon-small-dis:mad:

Do you guys know if the color is a normal paint or is it some kind of special annodized coating that will be really hard to match? I'm hoping I can buy a can of exact-color matched spray paint or something to touch up the gouges with as it's not worth going to huge extremes to fix, but it is enough that I am NOT happy about it.

Any input would be appreciated.

It's charcoal gray in color, thats all I know.

Thanks:beer;

I would venture to say the rattle can idea is going to leave you with a bigger mess. Take it to a reputable bodyshop and get their opinion.

Do you have a picture of the damage?

I agree with Blk88GT take it to a local body shop or maybe look for a guy who wants some side work for cash. Now that you know there is a scratch there your going to see it every time you walk by and if the repair job is not good you are going to notice an even bigger mess every time you look at the trailer.

That was my concern also... It's a little big to leave alone and I don't want a repair to look like garbage or I'll never get over it.

I'll try to get a pic uploaded shortly.

A good bodyman should be able to fix that up for you. You could likely get away with a good cut/polish on the scratches at the very least.

Just a thought...but what about contacting the manufacturer and seeing what two new pieces of sheeting would cost????? That might be an option for you? Who knows...

As previously stated, go get some kick a$$ "POLARIS - Terrain Domination" stickers and put over the top:)

I had a panel replaced on my enclosed, the paint is close, but not a perfect match. And that was a direct order from the manufacturer. The trailer had a crease on one panel when I picked it up and nobody knew/told me about it.

Just food for thought.

We built tons of race car bodies out of sheet aluminum and the manufactures never seemed to worry about perfect color match. Different batch different color. Surely not show car quality for sure. We also found on trailers that sat outside that the colors fade quite rapidly. Good Luck with the repairs >>>>.

Ya, especially with this being an 02 I'm sure it has faded considerably in the last 9 years... I think I'm gonna try to get it buffed out and touched up with the closest color possible and call it good... Once I get some time to take it in and have it looked at.

Thanks for your input guys, I'll update this thread once I get something done on it.:beer;
