Elk hunting and wolves

Just wondering how the elk hunters are doing this year. I'm going rifle hunting in Oct down by Grangeville, Id. Just talked to a guy from work that was archery hunting down there and he said that each time they bugled in a bull, a nearby wolf pack would starting howling and make there way in... so much for their bull.
Anyone else having this problem?

it's horrible up here. the elk population is smalller than half. Wolves are starting to kill black bears now, cause they are running out of elk

What does Idaho have for a wolf management plan?

It was not too bad, but since the wolves have been placed back on the ESA, it is mute right now.

Specifically, the plan called for reducing the wolf numbers back to 2006 levels with an emphasis on removing wolves where big game numbers were suffering. Not quite as good as Wyoming's plan but it was not too bad in my book.

Now ya's know what we've been dealing with up here in Alaska. Since the dem's stopped our land & shoot program 7 or 8 yrs. ago the wolf's are taking over.

not much for Elk populations all along the Canadian Rockies either, too much pressure from the amount of canadian hunters plus all the americans comming up. It's not worth the expensive trip, those guys are probably better off hunting locally in the u.s.

The Wyoming plan has been put on hold also, I don't know what's going to happen, I don't think shooting on sight will ever work, to many greenies like burndown1, they better come with something though
