Elk are down low. Hope you have horses, or able bodied men. You have your chance at a big one if you go down in the nasty stuff. Just be prepared for some eventful packing out. A horse is almost needed, but the elk are large in the area.

As for cabin to rent.....well.............couldnt tell you. I always rock out a wall tent :o

Dave,

What about Ranger Creek? I am not sure but there is not alot of private cabins in that area, especially ones that will be on SW. Have you checked into the lodges?? Alot of times they may have ideas on rental cabins as well. It sounds like you are not to interested in Bear Lodge, but I think that will be your best bet, or Passage Resort. Good Luck, I have hunted area 37 and it is rugged!!!! As Nate said, Horse back is the key there!!!! What about Story area, I know there is some areas there to stay that could be area 36 & 37.

Some guys from Wisconsin are coming out, and they are staying at the Passage resort in a 4 person cabin for $125 a night. It is in area 37 that is the only place left I believe. They tried Bear lodge and Ranger creek lodge, unless you are going to stay in Ranchester or Dayton.
