elevation setup

Recently purchased a slightly used '09 M1000 x 153" with around 700 miles. While giving it the go over, I see the unit still has the factory clutch setup, 6000' to 9000'. As I only run less than 3000', my first question is how much of an improvement is possible by changing the clutch setup appropriately. The unit is completely stock but I plan on doing some low level mods later. So, should I just have the clutch setup now for the 0 to 3000' I'm running or wait and do all the changes as part of the total package which modding. i.e. Just hold off and do everything at once. Either way, I'll have to pay someone to do it, so if the initially clutch change will only give me a marginally improvement I would probably wait until the end of the season when I do the full mod job. I'm not sure at this time how far I'll go as I would prefer to avoid a fuel controller. Additionally, the machine has a pretty severe bog around 6000 rpm when gradually applying the throttle. Would this clutch setup be partially responsible for this issue?

Also, if I do change the clutch setup for sea-level, is it necessary to do anything else? I'm asking as the dealers in my area are not to helpful and one even said the ECU may need to be reflashed. That doesn't make any sense to me but my technical knowledge level is pretty low, thus my question.
Thanks...

yeah i live at around 2000 feet and redid the clutch for there and it a whole different sled it seemed like. didnt seem to have the bog like i was having. but every sled is different in its own way. it may work for you and it may not but it worked for me. the only thing i dont like about it is you have to change springs to change altitude past 3000 foot.

i think that purple primary sping that they recommend will be too light with 85 gram weights. i used 83 grams with yellow/GREEN which is about 20 lbs finish, hard rollers, shift assist 36 helix and xs 817 belt and revs around 7300 or so. im going to try 85's but i think im going to have to go back to the yellow/white spring. 2200 feet here.

Is there any info out there avaialble for a guy like me to read to help me understand the principles of adjusting clutches and the terminolgy for my unit which is still factory clutched. I trying to understand what changes are required to set it up for 0 to 3000'. When I look at Cat's clutch setup for my elevation, p/n 5639-214, they list the torque bracket (0748-702) as 46/40*. Is this the torque bracket that comes with the factory setup or does it need to be replaced along with the changes in cam arms and the drive clutch spring. Sorry I'm such a newbie but, when trying to understand something, ya I may ask some stupid questions.. Also, should I just scrap the Cat OEM setup and add some aftermarket componets when I do some slight modding later.
