Electrical: separate fuel gauge for Fusion?

Ok, so I've gotten myself a Fusion tank and seat to put on a Gen II (yeah, dont ask!).

See the built-in fuel meter is hooked up to the instrument assembly (# 2410564) and now I'm wondering if this signal can be used on an older type of instrument?

Can anyone impress me??
