electrical problem

have a 05 fusion.green mode switch on LH hand control doesnt work,finally got the new switch installed it and in still wont change the mfd from rpm.I check all the connectores and cleaned that i could get to.also took apart the front connectors and looked up to where it goes into cowling by the head light,no breaks or melted wires.checked back to where they go to tank,didnt take off the plastic coating just checked for hot spots or where it could of melted and none.

also checked the hand and thumb warmers and all around the bar no breaks in the wires and disconnected them and the switch still didnt work.

Could it be by the tank?to take the tank off is it the 2 bolts under the seat and the quick connect for the gas(or is there more bolts) i cant see anymore?

where else could it be?

any help would be great

Yes, just the two nuts on the bolts under the seat to remove tank. But ya gotta remove the fuel lines first to pull the tank.

And its a bitch to get them off. You need a fuel line removal tool. Get them at an auto parts store.
