Electrical Help Please!!

I'm posting this for a friend which is back east I havent actually seen what was all done but here we go 04 Renegade Speedo was bouncing all over the place so he pulled the accesery fuse and it killed power to the gauges (tach/speedo) when he replaced the fuse neither gauge worked at all and where the digital gauge is it says SCALE. High beam brake light and reverse light all work on the left gauge?

I have an 06 rev and my tach does the same thing. If i hit the rubber button to change the screen my rpms wont work and it reads scale. Now i have tapped it with a rubber mallet and got it to work again. I dont know if its a short in the system or what. Hopefully someone has an answer!

what is happening is the button under the rubber button is sticking in the pushed in postion. just pull the rubber part out and reinstall it. happens all the time.
