How many amps can you have in accessories?

GPS
Helmet Heat Shield
Cooling Fans
Body warmers

etc ...

stator will crap out.

I dont know a acceptable load but know the stators are a weak point. I am worried about loading mine with a oil pump and a digitron in addition to factory items.

In the service manual the specs in front say 400 watts- but the in the back for the stator specs it says 300 watts. I believe that at least in 2005 this was one of the first sleds designed with electrical accessories in mind.

Flash..

i would recommend getting your STATOR rebuilt..when they do this, they make the windings alot tighter and more consistant..you will have a better output..but i dont think you can get much more power produced...but its well worth calling about..

Talk to RMStator....i have been meaning to call them but havent had the time to..ifi can here quickly, i will update this thread..i am interested to know as well..

I will also get back to your PM today as well...

Sure you could have the stator redone to increase the wattage but it might hurt other electrical components during an energy spike.

What on earth are you gonna do / have with 25 amps PLUS of accessories?

I dont know anything as far as running more access..i would just recommend doing the rebuild to ensure your stator stays strong and is maintained..the OEM ones have been known to come apart..

i meant to say STATOR not ECU btw..lol..i edited my posts.!!

Hey guys, I'm wanting to run a small 150 watt heater that will hopefully keep the windows defrosted in a tow behind Equinox sleigh.
Do you think my stator can do it? If so what/where do you suggest i tie into for power?
Thanks.
O'yeah, 06 900 Switcher.

There should be a circuit breaker that says "battery" on one side and "accessory" on the other side. If you don't already have a circuit breaker for accessories then you should add one before hooking up any electrical accessories. If you have electric start, the red wire from the starter switch should connect to the accessory side of the circuit breaker.

Thanks skis-n, where can i find these connections...
would i connect to "accessory" or "battery"?
Thanks inadvance...

Does your switchback have electric start? If so you already have a circuit breaker somewhere close to the battery. It's a little tiny box with 2 posts, one says battery, one says accessory. You connect accessories to the post that says accessory. The circuit breaker will protect your stator if you have a short or something it pulling too much electrical load.

If you don't have electric start or a battery, then you can still put a circuit breaker in between your power source and your heater, or you could just put an inline fuse. If you use a circuit breaker, you would connect your power source from the stator to the battery side of the breaker and your heater to the accessory side.
