Electric Start

I was thinking of adding elctric start to my 2010 D-8 since the last two sleds I bought have had it, now I kind of miss it. Well Polaris wants $600 for it plus a battery (which I can get from work at cost). Also I can install the kit myself.

The kit includes a whole new primary clutch - one with a ring gear. Do you think I would be able to get $300-400 out of the original primary if I sold it on here? Do you think it would sell easily? It would probably have less than 150 miles on it since I only have 2 trips out west yet this spring.

Maybe $300 for the "used" clutch? Try Babbitts online for the start kit. Make sure it comes with everything needed as the pic doesn't show much.

I just paid $420.00 last week for the kit with the clutch off of an ebay store...still have to get the battery but I thought that was pretty good...I figured it would be nice to have the spare clutch I take off and have it set up as an alternate with different spring and weights...

Look for someone that has one on their sled and offer a trade. I installed one of these on my wife's 009 Dragon 8 and found an individual that had just purchased a new sled with the electric start and was willing to trade clutch's along with a fifty dollar bill for his complete starter along with the battery. Just a thought, it worked for me.
