electric start problem

Anyone ever have trouble with there electric start on there Pro 800 ware the bedix does not catch the ring gear on the clutch was brand new when I got the sled is there some kind of adjustment looks like it is to close to the Clutch ring gear to me but never had one before so if you have had this trouble and fixed it? thanks

I've had the occasional 'misfire' but not enough to worry about. Maybe 1 in 25.

Also noticed a weak battery can make it worse. I have a lithium that doesn't like the cold.

Yes.

Two different problems have been observed-- a weak battery can keep the pinion gear from extending out all the way and engaging the gear on the back of the clutch.

The other problem is that the pinion gear will eventually strip it's teeth and not fully engage the driven gear causing a non start.

Or, the pinion gear will strip the ring gear teeth, if it doesn't engage fully. Bad deal all around.

I've had the same problem, diagnosed as a weak battery. Try throwing a charger on it for a few hours and retrying.

funny thing is it works good when cold but when warm good luck you would thing it would work good warm not cold but will try to put a charge on the battery and see what happens.

I would try a charger on the battery, could be something else ???
