Electonics Issues

I recently found when toggle through my guage with the left hand green thumb switch on aN 08 d8, alt 15,000. I found I could adjust it down to 12,500, but regardless of the elevation I rode, it stayed at 12,500. Does anyone know what this is for?
Also, while playing with this (you would think it was brand new) I remembered the service msg is still there when I scroll through the modes. What does this mean and how do I get rid of it?
Lastly, did I tell you Mr. Novice took his first ever Brand New Sled to the dealer last year for the 50 hour tune up, and the tech spent 5 minutes smelling the gas tank and 2 changing spark plugs. They called this a tune up and charged me $225.00 USD. Is this really what Polaris Industries recommends as customer support?
BTW, dealer has absolutely no clue about guage service msg or ALT display. Go figure. I'm looking forward to you answers.:face-icon-small-sho:face-icon-small-sho

New Machine

It's not that new. After 2000 miles, I finally stopped long enough to look down and check out most of the display and figure out what other info I could get other than temperature. It is the only guage I ride with. What mode(s) does everyone else ride in?

I believe if you want the altitude feature to work, Polaris sells a barometric pressure sensor that you can purchase and install.

The altimeter display requires a barometric sensor to be installed, optional accessory from Polaris. Same with the outside temp option (which I did install).

The connectors are built in to the wiring harness, but you still have to buy the accessories.
