What state typically gets more snow (measured in feet) for the month of October during an EL NINO SEASON ?

Will give answer as soon as NOAA replies!

No idea, But I'm ready to get this party started! Time to get this dry WARM air out of here and lets get some snow falling somewhere. I want to be riding in less then 30 days! Eric

Colorado !

The map is for the winter period of December to February. During that period, part of Colorado has a slight tendency to get below average precipitation during El Nino years.

But in October, Colorado's response to El Nino is different -- it tends to get the most big snow events.

It better make up its mind quick! It's felt like summer here for the first half of October. Ski resorts are having difficulty making snow due to warm temps.

Yeah no doubt. Super warm for October here in Colorado. This morning was finally cold. I usually get a road ride by the last week of October thru the 1st week of November. Not looking like that will happen this year.

SoCal may not like it, but at least the mudslides have started!

It rained over 2 inches an hour in an area not seen with anything near that amount in decades

So up to 2 feet of mud and up to 6 feet of water on the freeway in patches for 30 miles and was closed for almost 24 hours.

A freeway where traffic flow can be over 5,000 an hour.

Also had golf ball size hail !

Then earlier today some guy tried to jump off a freeway bridge and it took over 3 hours to talk him down Hollywood traffic is tough and one guy shut it down for 3 hours.

Boulder, Colorado has registered seven October snowstorms with more than one foot of snow since 1950, every one happening during an El Niño winter.

Snowstorms are really complex weather events that are difficult to forecast, even just a few days in advance, so this isn’t to say that Boulder should expect a big snowstorm this month.

However, thanks to El Niño, the odds are tilted toward greater-than-average rain or snow in Colorado, and much of the southern half of the country, in late fall and early winter.
