EGTs mean nothing unless you know what the #s mean. I have seen sleds burn down with readings of 900 deg , and sleds run great with 1500 deg indicated. The number means nothing unless you know how your plugs and piston wash look. Asking someone for their #s only works if your sensor is in exactly the same position, jetting is exactly the same, compression is exactly the same, etc, etc as someone elses. A sensor that is 1/8 of an inch off from someone elses can mean 200 deg difference in readings.
If your plugs are right and your wash good and your egts read 1400,,,,then that is most likely your base reading regardless of what someone else says. Ya have to do the work to make EGTs do what they are intended for.
