EGT Probe placement on the 900

Adding on a KOSO Digital Dual EGT Guage. Probe placement in the instructions show 4" from edge of piston for single exhaust, 6" for dual exhaust. I have an 05 900 RMK stock pipe with SLP can.
Is there an exact measurement suggestion somewhere out there for the probes?

I have mine centered in each of pipes in the Y pipe and works well.
