EGT Probe Options

Hey Guys,

My EGT probe has failed on me, I need to get another one tomorrow. Anyone ever used something other than the stocker? I know the arctic cat guys were running GM diesel ones for a fraction of the cost of a stock replacement. Also would like to have a few options as I am not sure if the dealer will have one in stock.

Good thought... Don't know if anyone has done this on a pro or not yet, but very possible. Run around $160 from the dealers I think.

i thought speedwerx sold the bypass for the polaris exhaust temperature probe..
other then that someone should have the resistor value for the bypass to make one..

i think Cat is 480 ohms..

You can put a resistor in place and never need to buy another sensor agin. just bring your temp up the same as you do with the water temp, I have resisted out more than I can count over the years including dragons I always keep a couple in my tool bag, never had a single problem doing this. Pm me I will give you the info it costs less than $5

Curious, what oil you run?

Polaris VES Gold.

But the sled is running an HM turbo and I had DET issues last year, so I am pretty sure that lead to the failure of the probe.

Yes thats insane for what is possibly a sensor purchased for under $50 off something else.

Currently my sled does not use EGT for anything so I will throw a bolt in there for now, but the come the new year and map update it will require EGT, so I will need to track one down.

Brutal price sled is still under warranty but I couldn't get it in the shop before my next trip. It triggers the engine light and limits the rpm....

Ahh thats a bad deal, I forgot to mention I am running a Vipec ECU and all it is doing currently is reading exhaust temps on my setup.
