I had Idaho Rob do my tuning. I know you wanted local but he can do everything over email, depending on want you want (a full v2 with DS5, a simple autocal, or have him program your ecm out of your truck.) He does excellent work.

It depends on how much you want to spend. You can buy the full v2 with scanner. He sends you that, you read the factory tune and email that to him. He does his work and emails it back to you with the dpf deleted and add power if you want. Or you can remove your factory ecm (really not that difficult) and send it to him via regular mail. This is not going on am LML (2011 and newer) truck is it?? If so EFI live will not work.

Duramaxtuner is in IL which is closer then Idaho. I have heard great things about both places. I am going with durmaxtuner once sledding season is over because he is only an hour from me.

Do you guys think for a guy like me that it would be easier to just go with a tuner like edge or h&s so I don't have to mess around getting the setting that I want?

Custom tuning is hard to beat ! I build in a turbo brake on 04 and newer trucks which is worth it by itself. We usually do an 80 hp tune good for a daily driver and towing. What year is your truck ?

I heard H&S is a great tuner all around for both Ford and Chevy...Think you should look into this a little closer.

Depends... Are you the type of guy that is happy with just a can on your sled or does it end up piped, ported, with every bell and whistle you can throw at it? If the can is good enough then H&S, Edge or any of the other box tuners will be fine. If your a full mod kind of guy, then no way are you going to be satisfied with a box tuner. This is were a experienced Efi Live tuner is going to be your best friend. They can tune your truck from mild to wild, as you add more performance parts they can tailor the tune to match the parts perfectly.
