I picked up some of the upgraded Polaris headlights (100/55 watts) but I'm wondering if I have enough power to drive them. The output of the stator is listed at 280 watts.

Here's what I currently have.

1. Stock heated grips ?? watts
2. Heated helmet shield (Polaris AF-1) ?? Watts
3. Instrument lighting ?? watts
4. Lead Dog light 35 watts
5. Stock headlights 65/55 watts

Anyone have a feel for what these draw or how to measure the total draw? Trying to decide if I'll go over the top with the new lights. thanks.

I too have an edge and have run them. They will work but you are taking your system right to the end. You can tell wether your handwarmers are on high or not. By the same token, wire your leaddog helmet light in so it is only on when in the low beam setting. Works great. If you try to run your helmet light while the 100 watters are on, you really start to go over the top. Atleast on my sleds. I am not sure just how much juice the heater shields draw. I have never run those. I have also run the 85/100 bulbs and didn't like those as well as the 55/100's because of running the helmet light. My helmet light is a 55watt and you could notice it when running with the 85's. Works fine with the 55's though. Hope this helps you.
