Edge 16 inch wide track thoughts

Did it...in a word..SUCKS I did a 16x162 3" paddle...killed the turning and side hilling, stick with a good 2.5 15 wide. Took track off after 4 rides.

Last year I had the stock 159x15x2 poo series 4 track, stock skis and stance. I could throw the sled around pretty easily. It was playful but still long enough to climb pretty well.

This year I have a 174x16x2.5, narrowed radius rods 1" each (2" narrower ski stance) in hopes of offsetting the wider track, and upgraded to Gripper skis. Its significantly less playful, but climbs like a motherf. I wanted better climbing, as I usually use my sled for snowboarding access, but its not as fun as the old setup if you're sidehilling or just carving around.

If I did it over (the 174", or any track upgrade for that matter) I'd go with a 15" wide. The 16" wide seems to rub on the sides during cornering too.

well here is what i was going to do. 151 inch 16 track, wahl anti sprockets. use the 144 suspension and move it back. Put an offset axle in backwards and use 8 inch slydogg fan blade wheels. 8 inch drop brackets.

I want to get away from trenching.

ideas? thoughts?

I went from a 144" x 2" to a 159" x 2.125" (15 wide)and it was the best thing I did to that rmk. No more trenching and still easy to maneuver. I'm only 170 lbs. stock drivers and rear idlers. lowered the gears and changed
the springs and helix.
