ECU, TPS changes

08 700 rmk TPS and idle voltage are spot on, yet sled is not running right. Idle is at 2200 rpm and it sputters at 5500 rpm and at 6800rpm. The sled ran fine before I started adjusting TPS and idle voltage, except for a low idle and troubles going in and out of reverse. These were the problems that I was trying to correct. Does it take time for the ECU to recognize these changes? I am running the sled at sea level in the garage. Does anyone think the sputter may go away once I get to the hill? Other ideas??

Sounds like you adjusted it wrong. I don't think that your sled will magically run right just because there is snow under the track.

I was looking for something helpful

Let's see, you say it was running fine before you touched it, except the low idle and reverse.

You touched it and not it doesn't run right. Correct?

I'll stick to my original post, you adjusted it wrong. Is that more helpful?

Just a couple of thoughts here - make sure all the electrical connectors you disconnected got reconnected correctly. Also have a look at any other connectors/harnesses that you might have inadvertantly bumped while doing the TPS adjustment. Inspect the airbox-to-throttle body boots. It's very easy to install the airbox and NOT get the boots over the throttle bodies correctly. If everything looks good, and your TPS voltages are correct as you stated, I'd take her for a spin on the snow before digging any deeper.

Did you do a full TPS initialization or did you just do an idle voltage adjustment?
You should have started with .700 Volts with the throttles closed and synced, then adjusted for idle voltage of .93 or .94 dependant on model. If you moved the tps to atain .94 you will have thrown off the whole TPS/Throttle opening. After getting the .7 volts you lock down the TPS, ensuring that the .700 stays constant as you tighten it, then you uses the idle screw to bring the TPS to .93 or .94volts.

Thanks for the tips guys. Yeah, I went through the whole process and have the voltages spot on. My manual says .95 for idle. So, I took it up today and unloaded at 4000 ft or so and it was idling at 1800 rpm. Just about right. From there on up to about 5200 ft. Sled seemed to run just fine, with no bogs or stutters that I had noticed when running it at sea level. Goes into reverse fine and no blinking dash and head lights. I guess miracles do happen when you get to the snow (SKIBREEZE)
