ECU symbol

I have an 06 M6 EFI and I am gathering the parts to make it an M7...
Currently I have a square symbol ECU and the sled only has about 3-400 miles on it.

Is there any rhyme or reason to the ECU symbols? Meaning something like... were the squares for high altitude, circles for medium, and triangles for flatland??? Or was it just to tune the injectors to the ECU? What on these machines with the EFI makes it so you can run at any altitude? Is one of these symbols seen as more desireable than the others

I also have a square symbol 2005 ECU from an F7 (he said it came from a 2004 F7 but the part number on it is the one for the 2005 M7)...that should work fine with my current injectors, right? (of course when I put on the M7 cylinders)

Thanks.

The shape has nothing to do with the type of riding you do or elevation. It was just a way of matching the ecu to the injector. Now I did hear that 1 injector shape to the next was leaner than the other. I do not know the order though. He had told me you can run them mixed matched, but it might run richer/leaner. It was recomened that I just match them up.
