ECU Fried

Anybody have any issues with the ECU melting down?? And I mean literally! Riding along on the trail on my 2016 Pro 800 on the way out after powder riding all day and noticed my instrument cluster was dead. Prior to this the sled was running great. I stopped and immediately smelled burning electronics and smoke was billowing up from the area where the ECU is located. Shut her down ASAP and thankfully the smoke settled and nothing was on fire. Took it to the dealer and sure enough, ECU is fried. Also told me it took out the gauge cluster. Dealer couldn't figure out why it happened.

Anybody else run into this problem or have any ideas why I had the meltdown?

On the older 08, 09 dragons the voltage regulator would go out and put to much voltage to the ecu and do exactly what you described. Not saying that was the problem but possible.
