ECU 7 blinks..How to check without digital wrench?

I have an '06 900 and since I got the rebuilt engine back it has constantly show the 7 blinks on check engine light. I have left the ECU out in body while waiting for engine. It always had the cover on. My bad for forgetting to take ECU off and store inside.

It runs great, idles great, just want to get rid of the check engine code, or solve it. I live in Nunavut Canada and only way to get to dealer is by air and freight would cost a fortune. Any ideas how to get this resolved? I have checked all connections to the ECU and all seem good.

New to snowest and it is a great place for info on the 900's.

here are the code definitions

the flash code 7 is an injector fault. i would check to see if you left and injector disconnected or if the pins came out of a connector -- i had this happen when i unplugged then plugged it back in one of the pins pushed partway out and wasn't making connection.

Very good advice! I had the same thing happen to mine, both pins on the pto injector pushed out of the connector.

Thanks biggdawg, Just got the engine off and checked the connections and 1 of them had the pins pushed in..

Once you have checked the injector plugs and if you found a pin or pins pushed out and rectified the problem, I believe the ecu should self reset. Once the codes become historic, and the only way to know this is to hook to Digital Wrench, they stop giving the code. the fact that yours is flashing means the code is present. good luck

Thanks BIGGDAWG...

I found one of the injector connectors both pins in them were pushed out and have been using it that way for a few hundred miles. Was in the process of changing o-rings in the head and also base gaskets. Checked both pistons and cylinders and no damage, still like new. Figured with one injector disconnected it would have been running lean?

Well after got that straightened out and engine back in. Took it for a rip and forgot how much torque was in this. I new something didn't feel right after I first started getting the blink code but figured was a ground problem.

Glad to hear it was a simple fix... those are always nice:D:beer;
