I thought they were going to hand out checks quickly and jump start the economy. i just typed in my ss # and it said July 11 they will start sending checks out and could take 2 weeks after that date to get your check.

They started sending them already but you must have a SSNin the 90's so you must wait...

It's an economic model of genious!

Our government borrows the money from China,
then gives this money to the people of the US,
who then haul azz to their local WalMart,
and buy products imported from..............................................CHINA!!!!

DING! DING! DING!
It all makes perfect sense now!

I'm using mine to get my eyes slanted.

$600 for a "stimulus" is a ****ing joke.

If they really wanted to stimulate the economy they would offer $10,000 rebates to people who have good credit ratings.

It would help those who actually repay their debts repay their debts and offer incentive for those who don't.

kids 300 ea me and wife 600 ea. I hope the ****ing pres. got plans for another rebate in future because this won't do much good. it won't even cover the cost of living increase that has happend already this year

All I'm saying is that this is a gimmick from Washington.

Seriously ... if the whole reason the economy is in the drain right now is because of the "housing crunch" then that means people who owe $100,200,300,400 thousand dollars can't make their $1,2,3,4 thousand dollar a month house payments or whatever ... not including vehicle, credit card, and god only knows what else ...

What good is not even 1/3 of your house payment going to solve? Yeah it'll put food on the table for two months, maybe, but you're still hundreds of thousands of dollars in debt, and guess what, $600 "free dollars" isn't gonna solve that problem.

It's a gimmick ... I'm not "complaining" about it because it will make my truck payment for a month, but I am completley at loss to see how this is going to "stimulate" an economy going into a recession because people can't pay their bills.

I mean didn't they try this in 2002 or something with the $300 and $600 rebates? Wow, that worked.

Think about it from a larger point of view. I understand what your saying but.........if millions of people get 600.00 free money and spend it our economy, it might just save a few jobs from (example) the grocery store clerk that will draw a few more paychecks and are able to pay a "few" more house payments. You have to think of the BIG picture. Sure it isn't going to solve the nations problems, but it might just "stimulate" a few more businesses to hold on to employee's longer.

So when are we supposed to get these checks? I didn't do the direct deposit thing ...

I am just hoping that by the time I get mine it will be enough to buy a couple tanks of gas.

If the Gov wanted to REALLY stimulate the economy, then they would help us with rising fuel costs. Plain and simple.

The reason your grocery, tires, parts, ups, stamps, fedex, etc etc, pricing are rising, is DIRECTLY related to fuel costs. Believe me, I am in the trucking industry.

The Bigger picture looks good for a month or two, but on the Grander scale, our lives revolve around oil, and that needs to be adressed before a small rebate, IMO.

My .02 cents might be worthless, but it still adds up at the end of the month.
