Yes, there is software out there that will automaticly place bids on items at the very last minute to insure that you win that item.

This is the one I have used, granted I dont buy too much from ebay, but it has won some auctions for me. It would be pretty hard to try and beat this tool if you were trying to bid by "hand". I have lost some auctions to it though, but for the same reasons you will lose the auction anyway. If someone has a higher bid already put in, it will go to your limit and no more. It will also only go bid by bid, meaning if your max is $300 and the item was at $200 and someone else has the winning bid, it will shoot in your bid at the minimum bid allowed. So you may get it for $202.50, as long as the fella ahead of you didnt already have a higher bid installed, it will be yours, but the higher bid will always beat the snipe tool. It's cool cause you dont have to babysit the computer, it will either be yours or it will not. Just try not to tell too many people .

It made me feel bad once though, I had it set up to bid on a kids bow for my nephew, and I was watching two people slowly bidding themselves up as the auction neared the end. At the last second, my bid went in and I got it for $2.50 more than any of their bids. If it was anybody's kid on here that I stole that bow from, I truly am sorry, but hey, consider it a lesson.

Well, let us know how you did. The other thing, just for reference, that site will try and make you pay for a faster bid, I never had to do that, I just took the free one and it has always worked for me.

I use esnipe if there's something I don't wanna risk missing or if it's at a bad time of day. It's more fun to snipe manually, though...

Edit: And I NEVER feel bad for sniping something away from someone; I always put in the max I will pay, I just do it at the last second. If someone else wanted to pay as much as I did, they should have put their best foot forward and let eBay take care of it. I win some and I lose some, but I'm never pi$$ed if someone else beats me either. If they beat me they wanted it more than I did...

I snipe my stuff manually and have never had a problem.
