Ebay sale. Questions

I sold some of my Dad's rotating lasers on ebay and all of them worked fine. All of them.

Now I get the buyer (who cannot even write properly) telling me that it doesn't work and is gonna cost $95 to repair it.

I don't believe him for one minute as I double checked everything, before I listed and before I shipped it. I even put new batteries in it and charged the internal batteries.

I don't know what to do. What would you do?

I responded, telling him exactly what I just told you. It worked fine when it left my bench. I think he's scamming me. His money was good and he did end up getting a $800 laser for $350 plus shipping

Ignore him and move on. He will most likely threaten to give you a bad rep, but whatever.

Or you could ask him what exactly is broken on it and see if he even knows jack about them. Its funny he knows exactly the cost to fix one.

How does he know it will be $95.00 to repair? Maybe he is the one who broke it? Did he have an estimate from a reputable shop? I doubt it, I say he's full of it.

maybe the f stick dosnt know how to use a laser.or maybe the gut digging just sucks.lasers need calibrated from time to time but are usually pretty bulletproof.at least the high dollar 5000$ lasers are.

Man ebay is so screwed up these days. It has totally turned into the buyers protection site. He11 you listed them and checked the "no returns" box and sure enough here they come back even if you listed them as is. Heck remember the guy that bought the Polaris 700 and said he got took for 3k with a bunch of mods. He got to keep the sled and ebay refunded him. <-------that was bull IMO.

I listed some movie series and said there quality was low as I bought them and they were NOT studio quality. Listed them as reason for selling and the series was worth 300 bux but since they were listed as crap quality they sold for 90 bux. Buyer emails me and says....."these are crap and not studio quality" I told him.............YEAH thats what the ad said. He wanted refund. I said no......ebay took the money back and they were returned.

Ebay is not what it used to be. Sorry.

If you specified a return policy ask him to return it. Do not refund his money until you have your item back. You are only obligated to refunding his purchase price not the shipping he paid plus he has to pay to ship it back to you. Make sure all communication is done through e-bay so they have a record. If it gets returned you can resell it. If he refuses to return it and gives you negative feedback you con contest the negative feedback through e-bay and as long as there is a record of you offering to return the item for a refund e-bay will delete the negative feedback. If he claims he sent the item back to you and you did not receive it, it is up to the buyer to prove he sent the item and the item was received by the seller.

x2 have him send it back. if he paid by paypal they always rule in the buyers favor for broken items. better to just take it back and resale it than to go through all the hassle and still lose. chalk it up to the cost of doing business in ebay...

I stated no returns or exchanges.

I think he dropped it or broke it himself and is trying to get me to pay for the repair.

out on a limb but maby he allready had a broken one and is trying to get you to take that one back? that would be crappy

i deal on there alot and have had all good results, well mostly. id say bid to bid 95% good. only two bad over six years of fairly consistant usage.

my pickup was a bad deal and i oedered a set of grips i never got but that was only a dollar and just forgot about it.

i sold some real junk this summer on there with good results. i listed it properly as in i got this from an auction and dont want to toss it. pretty much sold for the shipping price but ended up 45 bux ahead. everybody was happy

after typeing this i now realize it has nothing to do with your situation but i dont want to delete it so cheers

Yep agreed 100%.

In my deal in arbitration I copied the statement in the auction that said "poor quality NOT movie studio quality, buying a complete series AS IS"

Didnt matter Ebay/paypal just jerked the money outta my account and sided with the buyer.

After I replied forcefully but yet politely describing how I checked it, he seems to have backed off. Neither ebay or paypal has notified me. I think he was trying to scam me.

They do this hoping you will simply refund the $$ in lieu of letting them return it. Tell him to send it back for full refund and if he is lying you will make his life F'ing miserable on eBay via your buddy who is an SVP with eBay. Same if he doesn't send it back but gives you neg feedback.

He'll go away....
