How many miles from la grande is it to the snow park towards catherine creek is it past catherine state park new to that area just wondering. Any info helpful thanks

The snow park is about 30 miles outside of lagrande, about 10 miles past Catherine creek state park.

Sweet

Very nice. Wife and I got into some of that yesterday over here. Had to go quite a was up to find it, but it was there. Got all the sleds done, finally. Taking the family to Pilcher tomorrow and head for Anthony.

Can't wait to get over to Eagle Cr., but would rather do that during the week.

Nice grooming

Nice job grooming up their suitcase. You did such a fine job even Union Counties finest made it up there.:face-icon-small-fro

I'm really glad my tax $$$ can afford much nicer sleds than I can...

Oh well... time to get some more bills paid. Nothing kills a nice day out in the woods like.... anyway, time to shut up.

local or forest service? Will be grooming to anthony monday or tuse. and will head down the back side to the granite hwy.

We met up with county mounties at "dry beaver" (that name killed my wife) about 9 miles from Anthony. The trail was great, two sets of tracks through a few inches of fresh. Grooming was in awesome shape.... nice smooth ride for the wife (packing teeny tiny in the papoose, which must be a capital offense).

Anyway, had never been up there before. It was nice, minus the run in.

Back to the ungroomed backwoods... more kosher.

Next ride out w/out family I'm going to (try) to check out Rock Cr... especially a supposively "hidden basin" at Killamacue Cr. Maybe Tuesday, work permitting.

Big creek, a wet day. Lots of fun, goen again tomarrow, if I can drag myself out of bed 5 days in a row!!!

Big Opens look like Lily White? Never been there with good snow... lots with crunch.

Going tomorrow... still debating where, but have to be back early so probably over here. Did a little OT and finished today on 395. Meacham looked like crap.

We tried to go up to Tower Mt. yesterday and we drove through from hwy. 244 all the way through to the Starkey Granite hwy. with my dually and 3 place!!! Then drove 3/4 of the way up chicken hill before we hit the snow line. Unloaded road up to trail creek, only about 2 feet there maybe. Pick up tracks all the way.

Nasty

Sorry to hear that. That sucks... we're working down on 395 and was hoping to ride into Dale at some point this winter, just to say we rode sleds to work once.

I guess we lucked out then. Today was AWESOME, one of those really, really great days. Only bad part was, camera case flew open on a big jump/ roll over/ powder crash and camera disappeared into the deep. Didn't cross or spot a track or dude all day, mostly sunny and well over a foot of nice fresh on a decent base. A few stucks... but not bad.

The bowl we were in was just about 7,000 at the base and most ridges/peaks above us were 7,800 to 8,000. Never made it over the top, too much fresh and soft... but WOW... Have been wanting to check out that area for a couple years, and finally did!! Really great day, and about 1/2 hour (trailering) from the porch! Only put on 30 miles on sled and rode most the day. LOL:D:D:D :beer;:beer;:beer;

Thinking of going back tomorrow... will have to get a camera.

Sounds like you had a great time! Except for the camera! Nice to here that there is snow up there in the Elks, after the trip up the back side I was not very happy. Lots better on the other side of the valley. Hope to get up there in your country this yr. Will have to get pinball and come over one of these weekends.
