Easiest way to change jets

take the carbs out of the airbox, drain out the bowls by unscrewing the 4 bolts, flip them upside down and you should see them, its easiest if u have a jet wrench but if not just use small pliers AND BE GENTLE. best of luck hope i helped
 
remove the air box, then detach the carbs from the carb boots with a long flat tip screw driver...remove the plug the water trap hose connects to then unscrew the jet with a 1/4" deep socket.
 
Since the thread is on this topic, does anyone have a dumbed-down version of how to jet? I just got my first carb sled, 04 KK and not the slightest clue how to jet. These instructions help a bit but I still am confused :confused:
 
veri-flow and jet for the cold and low and your good
as for the 04kk same as above, remove the air box undo the carbs from the boots and flip over remove the 17 mm bolt from the bottom of the carb and use a jet wrench to remove the jet. one trick on how to put them in is pull the throttle cable all the way and hold as you put the jet in.
 
hey everyone, I was just wondering whats the easiest way to change the main jet in my 2001 rmk 700?
Why are you so worried about the jets when they were already set by the previous owner. They were set for our area already. your a goof.. see ya at school tomorrow
 
hahah, ya i was thinking about it and he told me only to change it if i went to revy or something like that.

I guess i'll leave em, ride in the mountains for a couple hours then check the plugs to see what they look like

if you are concerned about avoiding a melt down while maintaining performance, get a variflow or a aatac. Both are from Holtzmen Engineering and both work well as altitude compensators. Once you get your jetting close, you pretty much forget about it.
 
depends on your mechanical ability. the instructions are pretty clear. It is easier with an airbox, without, it can be tricky
