Well they may have been right, they seem to come up often enough that I suspect they sold quite a few of them.
I actually have one of those. Hangs on my wall most days. They are pretty fast in the right snow conditions. From my understanding they were made for the military to "backpack" into remote snow covered areas. Not sure how well that ideas was thought through
