E-tec injectors and the way they work.

Hey dude's and dudets. I wanted to start a thread that might get some infomation out there on the new E-TEC injector.

I also want people to understand that this injecton system is unlike any other injection system that has been used on sleds in the past. We have our etec in hand and are working very hard to build a turbo kit that will blow your minds.

Over the past year we have been collecting info. we have collected a note book full of info and here is some of that. what do you think?

and this is the sled that we are working on

Keep up the good work, if you guys do manage to get a solid kit out you would most certainly have the market.

Please keep us informed on the progress over the summer.

here is some stuff that you guys might like to hear about. the etec only .002 sqwish band. in head and cylinder. pretty cool how doo has built this motor. we got 28.5 miles per gallon on our first 3 tanks and 1 1/2 gallon of oil. almost 1000 miles on her before turbo was installed.

All fuel and flame stay dead center of piston making it so you can run super lean. flame never gets to the outer sides of piston.

Is that good or bad though? Good for economy, what about performance? How easy is it going to be to blow a hole through the center of the piston? What about heat transfer out of the piston?

I can't decide. right know it can go either way until we get more time on this sled.

My personal opinion is we are going to be able to control the flame and heat better than with the great big surface area in a standard head chamber.

burning will be more uniform so it should put less heat on the dome of the piston. also spark plugs are indexed and come in on the side of the head chamber. making is so your hot spot on the piston is gone.

sled will be more prone to detonation if fuel is crappy but sled should be easier to tune and be more precise.

I probably should explain the design a bit better. the head has a small shot glass sized chamber on top of the piston under the injector. long wide sqwish band that is machined smooth. inside the small chamber is dimples to atomize the fuel better in that chamber. spark plug is indexed at like at 2:00 and piston is still domed.

Do you know if all the 800 E-tech's will be running the same compression and same fuel/timing program, or will it be different for the Summits' (higher elev) vs the sleds aimed at lower elev. ??
Thanks for the info! Good stuff. I hope to have one for next year....if not sooner.

sorry guys I gave out to much info at this time. had a couple guys mad a me.
