lookin to buy USED duramax one for 34000 with 118,000 km 2006 or a 2007 for 37000 with 120000km i dont know if i want the new diesel particulate filters on the 07 and i think just from riding in both styles the older style has better fuel economy any suggestions would help.

i have a 07 classic LBZ and love it, gets better MPG's than i was expecting, I know i didn't want to of 07.5 and above because i didn't want to screw around with the DPF and all the other BS that comes with it(even with deleting it).

Thats alot for the KM's on it...you can buy a new 09 for 50K right now loaded in southern alberta

no that is the ball park, checked autotrader and kijiji that is loaded with every option except dvd player on the 07 and includes dvd on 06. and at 50,000 that is base line with no rug floor and cloth seats. beleive me i'm trading in a 07 5.3l half tonne you take a $hit kicking on buying new. also that is Canadian dollars not US.

i had a 06 and now a 09--the 06 had a tick more power and got about 1 mpg better than the 09--still like the 09--i would get a 06 over a 07--jmo

They're both great trucks and I don't think you could go wrong with either. As for the particulate filter I'd think it really depends on the intended use of the truck. If you're towing a lot of heavy loads and you're a lead foot you might want to go with the 06 because of the milage difference.
Another thing to consider is the interior upgrade from 06 to 07. It was a huge improvement in my opinion.

I bought a truck from these guys, they worked the shipping into my loan. Had the thing 18 months no problems. Knock on Wood.

Same here! I purchased the truck before I left for a snowmobile trip to Island park and they had a employee meet me half way to exchange trucks. So far it's been a great truck with zero problems. 2007 duramax crewcab. Thanks

thanks guys but same deal as i'm lookin at change the miles to km and USD to CAD it is the same and don't have to worry about boarder paper work and warranty work probs

Sounds like a lot of cake...I sold an 07 Ext. Cab. D-max 2500 with 40,000kms (not miles), full LTZ every option you could jam in it, for just under 40K CDN. Driven by old guy, beauty local truck. Buying a full size 3/4 ton+ diesel truck for $40K, do you really care about fuel economy THAT much? They all blow goats. The 07+ has a WAY nicer interior, and much better road manners. The 06 and prev. is a nicer looking truck exterior wise....pick whichever appeals to you.
