Duramax question

I have an 06 Chevy duramax with a edge w/attitude contoller. Looking to get an intake and need an exhaust to keep the egt's down when pulling trailers.
how big of exhaust do I need? 5" turbo back or is 4" good enough? Also intake which one works good if driven in lots of dirt?
thanks Rett

4 inch turbo back is plenty. Afe works well for me. getting rid of the cat will do the most to reduce your egts, a hushpower muffler works well if you even want one.

From what I have read over at dieselplace.com, they state that the '06 LBZ intake flows better then any aftermarket intake on the market. If you do decide to go with an aftermarket intake, stay away from the oiled type filters.

I would go with a turbo back 4" exhaust.

Unless you plan on making more than 500 RHP 4" will work just fine for a turbo back kit.
Loose the Cat and BLock off the EGR Will help with the EGT's.

As far as Air intake goes the OE is ok but the filters are expensive and will plug up in blowing snow with high wind conditions.

With that being said you cant go wrong with S&B or the Banks.

I can't even be on level 1 without the egt's getting too hot when pulling up big hills.
my engine is the LLY with the Allison 6 Speed

How hot? probe location? what kinda boost levels do you see? An exhaust will make a big difference but knowing what kinda boost your building is helpful.
