They refused service to a cop in West Hartford Connecticut. The shop and entire franchise for that matter surprisingly quiet on the entire incident. I'll never be there again. PS. I grew up in New Haven Connecticut and lived in the West Hartford area for five years. I am shocked.

Reprehensible behavior towards a police officer.

But with click bait like
Social media explodes with comments after employee refuses to serve officer

I love how things move along here in this "age of information" ... or dis-information.

Directly following the insult, the manager of the franchise walked to the officers car, with the offending employee and apologized.

Certainly not something that DD, as a company, supports. The employee has been suspended.

West Harford Chief Tracey Gove said: "I'm proud of the way our officer handled the situation and grateful to Dunkin' Donuts for their prompt response. Police officers face insults on a regular basis and we all strive to face them with professionalism. That's exactly what happened here."

Though Gove said he was “troubled” by the incident, he said he believed “the quick apology by the employee, manager and the President was the proper way to handle the matter.’

Just to keep things straight so that the hyperbole of the day doesn't run away with us.
Watch out for how the "talking heads" and "shock jocks" portray things.

Horse, thanks for the update. I appreciate the perspective and understand the importance of keeping it all in proper perspective.

I will still never be back. I remain appalled that there is still nothing in the way of an official statement at the Dunkin Donuts website. The only statement I see anywhere from any company official is a watered down politically neutral weak BS statement from Michelle King, Dunkin' Donuts' senior director of global public relations, issued a statement on Sunday.

"We are aware of the situation at the Dunkin' Donuts at 1234 Farmington Ave. in West Hartford," King said. "The crew member exhibited poor judgment and apologized immediately to the police officer. The franchise owner, a long-time supporter of local police, has also reached out to apologize on behalf of the restaurant. Dunkin' Donuts and our franchisees share a commitment to the well-being and fair treatment of all guests."

Absolute crap!!!

Hopefully a stronger statement will follow but i"m not holding my breath.

^ maybe I'm dense but I don't get your gripe here.
What do you want them to do? Toss the employee and president of DD in prison and throw away the key???
Who cares! You've never insulted a cop before? Haha. I have, but only after I was getting arrested anyways!

Sounds like a case of....... Whoops I posted after not reading the whole story and now I'm sticking to my original rant.......

No one is perfect. Sounds like they made it right. I'm sure the employee is a real winner more then likely at their next job by now. I would hope that a comment or action by one of my employees would NOT directly affect the bottom line reputation of my company. To hold one minimum wage employee as the spokesperson of an entire corporation?? You have got to be kidding!!!

3 sides to every story and the media got the hype they were after IMO. But in reality the gal was kidding when she yelled over the crowd. She appologize and more since it was taken wrong.
