What's the reason for greasing the speedo housing it is a sealed bearing ? Or am I missing something ?

I have a 2011,2012,2013 when I switched out tracks on these sleds none of these had grease from factory . So should I be greasing them?

What holes in the shield? I've had both our 11s out and there were not any holes . If there were they are too small to do any good.

Ok so assuming there are holes somewhere that means you would have to fill the speedo housing to get grease in . That is possibly the most ridiculous idea ever

Didn't the older sleds have open bearings ? Mine is out now I will look for holes but why would you have holes in a sealed bearing ? Would grease in the cup screw up the speedo sending a false code to the ecm ? Dumb ? #2

I just had mine apart. There is no holes in the outer race of the bearing. Guessing earlier sleds had non sealed bearings. No reason to grease the speedo

Mine is an 11 as well. my guess is that previous models use the same housing as the pros and that the previous models used a greasable bearing. But on the Pros (at least my 11) Is a sealed bearing that can not be greased through the outer race. So pumping grease into this grease cert is doing nothing but making a mess.

I just set up a new assault and when I was running it the speedo would bounce around from 10 to 95mph. So I started investigating and thought, well I'll give it some grease and see if that helps the sensor. Sure enough I fired it back up and it worked like it should. I pulled the housing off to see if there was something bouncing around in there and there was just some metal filings. So those few filings that were in there were screwing up the sensor by bouncing around in there but they would get suspended in the grease once it had a couple pumps. You're also not supposed to give them more than a couple pumps of grease at a time.
