Dum Dum dumb

Just got my sled back from getting the clutch updated, so i took it out to see how it was. Finally found some powder, so i put the flipper to the bar. My sled would only do 7700 rpm with the parking brake on, then it lit on fire. Burned a up a bunch of stuff!! Had to be towed out. was able to put out the fire before too much damage$$$

when i bought my sled, it was my first, and my dealer told me to always put the parking break on full the position, that way if you do try to go, the track won't spin and should clue you in that it's on

one time i put it on half way and realized i was riding with it on, luckily only a couple seonds, doh!

That really sucks. Why wouldn't they design it to be fully on or off? On my sled, you know instantly if you try to take off with the brake on.

That sucks,

I had a machine catch on fire one time when i was a kid -- the oil line made contact with the exhuast.

Good Luck

I got a chain case off a burnt down sled at Crooked Creek last year after my chain took mine out! Sled renter didn't take Park brake off didn't make it far either befor they bought it .:face-icon-small-win

No i de dumb one

No dumb dumb dumb is me an idiot that knows which way to put a piston in and STILL puts them in backwards, turns out they only run that way for about 5 miles.

Plus a buddy of mine borrowed a sled and caught it on fire that way, then he unloaded it in my garage and used the lefty to stop, and fired my rollaway toolbox right deheck out de wall

Wow guys...those stories make me laugh and cringe at the same time.
Sorry to hear about your troubles...we all make mistakes from time to time.

As a side note...I have never used my parking brake cause I usually try to park on a flat spot instead of down hill. Just to save myself from committing a Dum Dum!

god is that funny!!!! That totally made my day, i am sitting here alone laughing my *** off.

I have blown two engines this year for the low low price of $1700. I feel your pain.

You are a hell of a guy to make that post.

Some funny stories for sure! Expensive mind you!

I'm surprised the manufacturers haven't incorporated a limiter when the park brake is on. My Yamaha Wolverine had it. Bought it new, took it from the dealer straight out to the trail for it's first ride. Couldn't get it off the truck, just sputtered. Finally figured it out after a minute or 2. :D
