Dual Sport Helmets

Has any one used these kinds of helmets? They are just like a normal motocross style helmet, but they have a face shield too. I was thinking you might get the best of both worlds with these. Any info or opinions would be helpful.

I have an Arai XD3.
Commute year around with it. Lots of wind noise on the highway.
Wore it sledding once. Sucks in my opinion. Visor fogs in no time so you have to leave it cracked open. Then snow gets in.

Just get a mx helmet for a lot cheaper and wear goggles.

The single pane shield will be your enemy on these. They will fog and ice over. I agree just use goggles and a Moto X style helmet. KBC tried that idea on a snow helmet quite a few years ago. It didn't really work out so well. Most people removed the shield and used goggles.

Probably wouldn't be a horrible thing if they make a dual shield for it. Im not sure if they do make a dual shield for them or not.

If it were me I would just stick with open face and goggles.

Had a KBC back in the day. Used the shield about......................once. Then I put my ski goggles on and never looked back.
That's about the only plus of a NMFH is you can have a full face helmet that doesn't fog up in most conditions, but gawdddammn they're gross when you wring out a cup of slobber out of the breath box!
