Hey all - I'm going to get an enclosed trailer, and debating on deck-over vs not.
It looks like some of the non-deckovers have small fenderwells inside; saw a thread about making ramps over them. Not a bad idea.
What it is REALLY boiling down to is simple - deckover axles seem like they're about the same track as the truck; non-deckover, the axles appear wider than the truck. Is that the case? Might not be, looking at pictures - I know on my little open trailer, the axles are truck-width (the tires are pretty far under the deck).
Wondering about stability/pullability in snow. It seems to me that having the trailer tires inline with the truck would make it pull easier. Not a concern?
The other piece - it is going to carry a (light, 1950#) car in the summer. Deckover will make getting the car in/out tricky, unless it is a beavertail (low car).
Collective wisdom? I would _greatly_ prefer to have ONE trailer - I've lived with two for the past several years, and it is a pain. One trailer = several less headaches.
Thanks!
RH
