I have a 159" 800 vertical escape. I am replacing the belt with a 162" belt, 2.25 lugs and 3" pitch. I am trying to figure out how many tooths i need on the non slip drivers I am going to order. Can any of you guys help?

Well, if you are going with extroverts you'll need to go with 7t drivers. I suggest you go with AVID drivers, they work very well. You will also need to trim your rail tips down an 1" and set your suspension back 1" to make room.

We use 9 tooth avid drivers on ours, it's probably prefrence as 7,8, or 9 tooth but avids opver any other for sure.

Larry, you must do D & R on your Edge sleds to fit 8 or 9t..? I run the 2.5 without the d&r and it's pretty tight with 7's.

Thanks for the help, I will order a set of 7T drivers. I am thinking about using a freedom axle to extend the rails. (Mounting it the wrong way.)

Not true i run 9 tooth with 159 2.125 track and my buddy runs 9 tooth with 2.250 track and have for 3 years no problems what so ever. And we do still have our front coolers in there as well. now the 2.5 would not work for sure. Also we are still at the 2.52 pitch. So no you do not have to. Also be sure and read what comoplast is saying about there tracks coming apart, there saying smaller driver might be part of the problem.

It will never clear more than 7t cause think about it 2.52(pitch)x8(tooth)=20.16 inches around and 3.0(pitch)x7(tooth)=21 INCHES Pitch changes a lot!

PS: what are u doing with your 159"??

The OP said he is running or going to run a 3.0 pitch track. Not 2.52. 8t 3.0's are almost a half inch bigger dia than a stock 9 tooth 2.52. The 7 tooth 3.0 is about a half inch smaller. This does allow you to clear a 2.5 in camo extreme as that is how my sled is set up however you can feel it plug up in deep dry loose powder with that setup. It clears, but still needs a d&r imo.

I was just trying to use that 2.52 as a comparison as that is what they have now. Going to a 7 tooth 3 pitch is .54 of an inch difference or 1/2 inch, divide by 2 you gain 1/4 inch of clearance per side. i did not give enough info sorry.

Moving the suspension back is the best way to go it gives you a better approach angle.

Done. Used 7 tooth non slip drivers, moved the suspension 1" back, put the freedom axle in the "wrong" way, removed all idler wheels, added a anti stab axle and ice scratchers. I am considering full clipping the track too. Just wanted to say thanks for the help guys, if only it could start snowing now!
