driven spring hole placement 01'

driven spring hole placement 01' Question

i have an 01' 440 mxzx i just bought and i was wondering on the inside face where the holes are for the spring to go in, mine is in the 6 hole (green mark), is that the least tension or is that spring cranked up? The guy i bought it from said he adjusted it. The belt sits just below to top of the clutch, i know that its sapose to be up like an 1/8 or 1/16, is there an adjustment for this? Whats the point of the little "T" handle tool that threads in the outside face, does that have to do with that? Please help! Thanks. GLAD I SOLD MY POL!

Actually there is also 3 holes that the other end of the spring can go into. The combination of the 3 inner and 6 outer holes makes for alot of combinations. You have to see what inner hole it is in and go by the chart to see where it is set. Doo goes by lbs. of pull to rotate the sheave in their chart. I dan't have a chart to post, but you can probably find one on here somewhere.

Is this the chart? ABC being the three other holes?

That's the right chart.
The t- screw tool threads into the hub of the clutch and pushed the rear sheave so that you can get the belt on/off.
Adjust the width between the sheaves by adjusting the 3 allen head set screws in the hub. Be sure to do all equally.

Are those nuts just locking nuts?
